Dr Kaylee Slater
PhD, BND(Hons)
I am a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the University of Sydney and a dietitian with expertise in nutrition interventions for fertility, pregnancy, and women’s health conditions. I was first exposed to preeclampsia and hypertensive disorders of pregnancy after my undergraduate studies where I assisted as a dietitian on the Blood Pressure Postpartum study.
Shortly after, I commenced my PhD to focus on improvements in heart disease prevention for women with a history of hypertensive disorders of pregnancy, specifically health services in the primary care setting. My current research focuses on sex-specific cardiovascular disease prevention, primary care and health services research, community engagement and co-design and blood pressure management.
I thoroughly enjoy being on the AAPEC committee and am passionate about giving back and continuing to raise awareness about preeclampsia and the need for better support and care.
