Dr Priya Vakil

Priya is a doctor practicing at St George and Sutherland Hospitals with a keen interest in Women’s health. She obtained her Bachelor of Medical Studies and Doctor of Medicine at the University of New South Wales, however it was during her Honours research year that she was first introduced to the St George Obstetric Medicine Research Group. She undertook a study researching infant growth and psychomotor developmental health outcomes after hypertensive disorders of pregnancy. During this time, she first helped support AAPEC in our annual Walk for Preeclampsia!

Since then, Priya’s interest in Women’s health, obstetric medicine and preeclampsia research has grown, and she hopes to further her career in clinical obstetrics and research fields. She is honoured to formally join AAPEC in 2024 and hope she can contribute to advocacy, awareness and support of those affected by preeclampsia.
